A successful journey to safety excellence
Challenge
Despite a downward LTIF trend, a series of severe and in some cases fatal accidents occurred at the client sites. To address this unexpected situation, they asked dss+ to conduct an in-depth analysis of their safety culture and identify areas of improvement. The results showed that the network operator relied too heavily on technical safety measures and was not paying sufficient attention to risk perception, as well as overall safety culture.
Solution
dss+ started by assessing the situation using the Safety Perception Survey™. After visiting multiple sites, interviewing managers and analysing all the documentation and data, an action plan was developed, along with a joint management workshop to set up a sustainable HSE cultural programme. This has helped to promote a more nuanced and heightened awareness of potential risks.
