Priyanka Razdan
Project Manager & Consultant, India
What does a typical day look like as a Consultant in ORM team at dss+?
As a Consultant in the ORM team at dss+, my day combines technical problem-solving, client engagement, and culture transformation. I work with organisations across sectors such as Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Metals and Manufacturing to strengthen Process Safety Management systems, improve operational risk controls, and build sustainable safety cultures.
Depending on the engagement, I may be conducting multi-site PSM assessments, facilitating leadership workshops, analysing Safety Perception Survey findings, reviewing critical risk management processes, or helping clients develop actionable improvement roadmaps. A large part of my role involves engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from senior executives to frontline employees, to understand their perspectives and align on practical solutions.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping organisations move beyond compliance and create lasting improvements in how safety and operational excellence are managed. Whether supporting a refinery on its PSM journey or helping a manufacturing client strengthen its safety culture, the opportunity to deliver measurable impact while contributing to safer workplaces is what makes every day at dss+ fulfilling.
Why did you choose a career in consulting?
I chose a career in consulting because it enables me to combine my passion for process safety with my desire to create lasting organisational impact. Over the past decade, I have worked across engineering, process safety, and operational risk management roles, helping organisations understand and manage complex risks. While technical expertise is important, I realised that real improvement happens when people, leadership, systems, and culture work together.
Consulting gives me the opportunity to work closely with clients at every level, from senior leaders defining strategy to frontline employees executing daily operations. Whether conducting Process Safety Management assessments across refinery sites, supporting safety culture transformation initiatives, or analysing Safety Perception Survey insights, my goal is always the same: helping organisations translate insights into actions that deliver measurable and sustainable results.
The most rewarding part of consulting is that every project has the potential to improve how organisations operate, strengthen resilience, and most importantly, help protect people. Knowing that our work can contribute to safer workplaces and better business outcomes is what continues to make this career so meaningful to me.
Why did you join dss+?
What attracted me to dss+ was the chance to make a broader impact. In my previous roles, I worked extensively on process safety and risk management, but I wanted to be part of an organisation that helps clients tackle these challenges at a strategic level as well. At dss+, I have the opportunity to work with different industries, solve complex problems, and help organisations improve both safety and performance. That combination was very appealing to me.
What are you most proud of?
If I look back on my career, what I'm most proud of isn't any single project or achievement. It's the trust that clients and colleagues have placed in me and the opportunity to support organisations through meaningful change. From my early days in engineering to my current role in consulting, I've been fortunate to work with talented teams, learn from different industries, and help organisations improve both safety and performance. Seeing those improvements become part of the way people work is something I'm genuinely proud of.
