Executing an Operations Excellence program at OQ

OQ is a global integrated energy company with roots in Oman – operating in more than 16 countries around the world and covering the entire value chain from exploration and production to marketing and distribution of end-user products.

OQ’s refineries in Suhar and Muscat, as well as the aromatics and polypropylene production plants in Suhar, provide fuel, plastics and other petroleum products, to Oman and the world.

OQ partnered with DuPont Sustainable Solutions (DSS) to execute an Operations Excellence program through the installation of Lean principles, which resulted in tens of millions of dollars in value being unlocked across 3 of its sites. This resulted in improved visibility, real-time KPI visualization, and data-driven decision making. DSS was selected to deploy this ‘Lean Transformation’ program following DuPont’s experience in deploying a similar program throughout its own facilities globally. DuPont implemented Lean principles across more than 200 sites globally.

The Operations Excellence program aimed at improving performance of assets, frameworks, and accelerating the delivery of financial and operational results.
