Stora Enso Veitsiluoto, a Finnish pulp and paper manufacturer, began experiencing an unexpected increase in Lost Time Accident (LTA) rates. As incidents continued, the mill decided to reach out to dss+ for support and guidance.
In 2013, Stora Enso Veitsiluoto embarked on an improvement program in cooperation with dss+ called “Safer Veitsiluoto.”
Designed by dss+, the program focused on training members of the executive board, managers and internal experts/trainers who could pass on what they learned to the mill’s 750 employees.
During the training sessions, trainers and employees jointly addressed work patterns and conditions, which helped establish an effective dialogue on safety.
