Regiosuisse – regional development platform
As part of the "New Regional Policy" (NPR), the Confederation supports local economic development projects with over CHF 500 million per year. These projects must be innovative and address sustainability challenges to strengthen regional economic ecosystems and long-term competitiveness. The regiosuisse platform was established to support regional players and stimulate the generation of high-impact projects. Since 2008, NPR has supported approximately 5,000 projects.

Challenge
The Confederation appointed dss+, as part of a consortium of specialist service providers, to manage the regiosuisse platform. The goal is to strengthen the capabilities of regional actors and ensure that public investment in projects generates the intended long-term effects.
Solution & methodology
To engage with a wide range of regional stakeholders – including public institutions (Confederation, Cantons, Regions, and Municipalities) and private actors (companies, associations) – dss+ delivers the following services through the regiosuisse platform:
- Organisation and facilitation of both in-person and online events for experience-sharing, co-creation, and networking, using participatory methods
- Development of training materials, documentation, and practical tools on topics such as industry, innovation, tourism, the local economy, digitalisation, sustainability, and the circular economy
- Evaluation of funded projects to measure their impact and enhance effectiveness
“Regiosuisse is the regional development network in Switzerland. With its website, its exchange platforms, its events as well as with the combined know-how of its various partners including dss+, it is the gateway for regional actors and projects who wish to develop their regions.”
