Promigas: Building a Safer, Stronger Corporate Culture
Promigas is a business group comprised of companies engaged in the transportation and distribution of natural gas, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) regasification, electricity distribution, and integrated industrial services, with operations in Colombia and Peru. The company recognized a need to strengthen its safety culture to improve sustainable performance.

dss+ Approach
In 2022, dss+ conducted a diagnostic survey to assess Promigas’ safety culture and identify strengths and areas for improvement in its transportation and distribution operations. This enabled the development of a roadmap with strategic drive towards interdependence, focused on: Corporate Safety Governance, Leadership, Operational Discipline, and Contractor Management.
Between 2022 and 2024, dss+ supported the implementation of the roadmap across the 12 companies involved in the project (4 natural gas transporters, 1 LNG regasification company, 1 integrated industrial services company, 5 natural gas distributors, and 1 electricity distributor), as well as the corporate-strategic team and the energy solutions business unit. The DnA programme, along with Safety Observations, Work Cycle Verification, and contractor management initiatives, contributed to the enhancement of leadership competencies among frontline personnel and safety professionals.
A Safety Maturity Index (SMI) was established as a corporate measure that primarily incorporates proactive elements.
In 2024, a new diagnostic confirmed the transition from dependence to independence and supported the update of the roadmap through to 2028, implementing worldclass best practices aligned with the organizational strategy.
