Riada Meyer
Manager, BENE
What does a typical day look like as a manager in the BENE team?
No two days look the same. My work is shaped by the client, the project phase, and my role in the team. As a Manager, I’m often coordinating, making sure colleagues have what they need on site, while also working closely with clients to understand their reality and their vision. We work both on site and from home, spending time on the shopfloor across different industries. Being onsite, working with smart colleagues, and seeing the impact of our work firsthand is what makes this role so rewarding.
Projects usually start with an assessment phase: meeting early, heading to site, completing safety inductions and walking production areas with managers to observe and talk to people about how they experience safety. The debrief is key, connecting what we see on the shopfloor to the wider safety culture. Seeing senior leaders make that connection is one of my favourite moments.
During roll-out, the work shifts behind the scenes: strengthening governance, developing standards, and delivering tailored training and coaching. Change can be hard, so we focus on practical, positive impact. I’ve recently started applying my ICF coaching training on projects, and I love helping people find solutions that truly work for them.
Why did you choose a career in consulting?
Curiosity! I have always been a very curious person, and as a consultant I get to see many different companies in different industries and countries. Every project has a different composition of team members, so I get to work with many different colleagues all over EMEA.
I love how I get to be involved from the start of talking to the client and figuring out what they really need, to proposal writing, planning and conducting assessments, collaboratively developing the best solutions and then implementing them.
Why did you join dss+?
When I first came across dss+, I was drawn to the core values, especially environmental stewardship — it really resonated with me personally. When I saw the role advertised, I nearly scrolled past. I had no consulting experience, but I was open about my background and eager to learn.
A week later, I had a contract, and even before I officially started, I was invited to the end-of-year meeting to meet my future colleagues. That’s when I knew I’d made the right choice.
Now for me the more relevant question is: why do I stay with dss+. There the answer is clear: because I have amazing colleagues that share my passion for changing the world for the better, one step at a time.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of always finding a positive outcome and seeing the opportunities for growth – for my clients, for my colleagues and for myself. I strongly believe in lifelong learning and that every situation has an opportunity to show us a new facet of the world.
What do our values mean to you?
My favourite value is Respect for People, because to me it ties all the others together. Respecting people means caring for their safety, health, and acting with ethics — and it naturally connects to environmental stewardship, too.
Everyone I’ve worked with shares this mindset. We’re all people who want to leave the world a little better than we found it.
